Carpinteria Pixie and Palms

Off to Solvang by way of Ventura and Carpinteria in SoCal - i guess its still SoCal up there, maybe MidCal (?) - anyway, Ventura is so funky. I was fascinated: there is a Fairy store on the main street where all things Fairy and I mean ALL things Fairy are located! and they have renaissance costumes, bodices, fairy dresses, skirts, overlays and all things magical. of course, i tried on half the store and was so happy flitting about - i did buy a lovely dusty plum colored one and cant wait to wear it at the Faire - maybe get some wings and make a scalloped overlay skirt to accent it - I also found (last one) a long airy-fairy white gown of burn-out silk that is like wearing a cobweb. I am going to tie dye it and attach it to the fairy gown ~ contined to Carpinteria listening to BPM/Area on Sirius - techno all the way! i had passed Carpinteria lots of times but never stopped in - and it is a real treat. just so sweet and quaint. cute cottages and lovely tidy main street with picture postcard bars (karaoke) etc. Had a cup of passion fruit tea in Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on the corner and the cutest (homeless?), little pixie was in there. She had red rouged cheeks, red lipsticked lips, long pink socks over carnival striped ones, in furry boots, she had 2 suitcases topped with a flourish of yellow fake flowers and an auburn wig that as she lay sleeping with her mouth agape, was slowly coming off her head !  oh the Palms Restaurant in town by the sea on the main street is the place to be on Friday nights.  Great band, friendly locals, clean and comfy, good food, generous pours and its just plain fun.  We were still dancing at midnight - no idea how long they go to - it was raining cats and dogs upon leaving the Palms but it was lovely!
